How to get started:

Materials:

Your Build-A-Basket-Kit should includethe following:

  • Excelsior,
  • 2 Primary Crinkles,
  • 2 Dome Bags,
  • Bag Twister,
  • Glue Gun,
  • Glue Sticks,
  • Glue Dots,
  • Decorative Box Container,
  • a Hand-Made Bow

Products:

Get or purchase all the products you would like to put into your gift basket. You might want to create a theme such as "Ultimate Wine and Cheese", gift basket. Some suggested products that would work this type of gift basket are: crackers, wine bottle opener, wine glasses, sausage, and olive oil dipper.

You are now ready to start:

Set all the materials from the "Build-A-Basket Kit", together with all the products you would like to put inside the basket on top of a clean table.

  1. Open up the decorative box container to its box form. If nessary, place some crumpled newspaper in the bottom of the box to add more volume.
  2. Place the excelsior inside the box container. Form and lift the back of the excelsior like a triangle and create holes as big as your fist.
  3. Take your large products first and insert them in the holes beginning from the back of the basket going forward.
  4. Using the glue dots, glue the products together side by side. You may want to glue the dots in areas that are necessary to allow the products to stand. Either in the side or back but never in front of a product. The secret is to hide the glue dots so they do not show.
  5. Once you are done putting all the products inside the basket, insert little pieces of the crinkles around the basket to cover the excelsior. Use the crinkles like accent around the basket.
  6. Take the dome bag and place the entire basket inside it. Tie the bag with the twister.
  7. You are now ready to shrink wrap the basket. Take a heat guy or a very strong blow dryer preferably 70 degrees heat and blow the dome bag all around the basket.
  8. Take your hand-made bow and start with the first round of sleeve and to the next alternating up and down around the bow. Tie the bow around the wrap twister above the basket.
  9. Take your glue gun and glue stick and glue the legs of the bow inch by inch on each side of the basket going downwards.
